What the Camera Saw, the Ordinary Extraordinary Colors of Life

I have discovered a world of color and mystery through the lens of my camera. My world view after Justin’s death became a single shade of gray, but through the viewfinder, colors became alive again. It was painful at first, hard to absorb their vibrancy and pulsing life, now they feed my soul. To honor and celebrate life in all its dizzying array, Fridays will be focused on “what the camera saw,” the ordinary, extraordinary colors of life.

I have been asked if it is permissible to copy and share the posted photos. Yes, please do! Your photos exude hope and joy, which is a hard won feeling for us, isn’t it?

It is Andrea! We have to fight every day, every second! Thank you for seeing the hope and joy, beauty can speak to us when nothing else can. Wishing you a peace filled day.

Oh. Yes. For sure and definitely to the HOPE.

Thank you Carla! I think what I have learned most about hope is that even when I didn’t feel it, or recognize it, it was still there. Thank you for visiting.

The photos are absolutely stunning. I just wish you could have found your knew love without going through the hell that you have obviously lived through.

Thank you Rena! Thank you for taking the time to stop by and visit. And yes, I have often struggled with that very thought, suffering and grief are such a paradox. Sometimes the bitterest of sorrows uncover a place of healing.

Beautiful photos. Butterflies are sort of my family’s symbol. Whenever I see one, I like to think my grandmother has come by for a visit 🙂

    Keep taking pictures!

Thank you Sharon! I have come to such a deep appreciation for our little visits from our loved ones. I could hardly believe that this one stayed so long and sat so still! It was a pretty magical moment. Wishing you many butterflies and visits from your grandmother. And I will, I will keep taking pictures, thank you for the encouragement!

Your photographs are beautiful. I love Butterflies and flowers, both are so graceful.

Thank you Jane for taking the time to visit! I could scarcely believe when this butterfly visited and was so generous with his time. So often they flutterby and that’s it, but he made capturing his beauty so easy. Precious moments. Thank you again, wishing you a peace filled day.
