Magical, mystical San Antonio, my new favorite happy place in the universe. Have you ever dreamed of visiting a place, you weren’t even sure why it pulled at your heart, but you secretly hoped you would see it one day? San Antonio was my dream corner, and when we were invited to film the American Chesterton Society’s National Conference, it was like Christmas morning! There was more beauty and charm than my heart could hold, every moment was precious. Here are just a few of my favorites from the River Walk.
Would I return to San Antonio? In a heartbeat. I find myself missing the enchanting River Walk with its winding stone paths. If I close my eyes, I can still see the light that filters through the trees and casts a golden glow over everything. Those hours that we spent wandering created memories that will last a lifetime.

I stayed on the Riverwalk a few years ago and my best friends met me there and stayed over a few nights. It was an incredible place! I was delighted to be able to stay right on it. How memorable.
We stayed at the Menger Hotel, full of charm all on its own, but our next visit – I would love to stay right on the River Walk! It sounds like you had a grand trip. Brenda, thank you! What a gracious invitation! We did sneak in a trip to the Franciscan Missions Thursday morning. The architecture and beauty was overwhelming. I would rest my hands on the stone walls and just feel the memories, oh if walls could talk. We had to hurry a bit at Mission San Juan and Mission Espada, I would have loved to explore the aquaeduct at Espada. We were met with such kindness and graciousness wherever we were in San Antonio, there wasn’t one sour moment.
i haven’t been there is a while, but really loved visiting San Antonio!

I would have loved to visit some of your favorite shops. I loved everything about our trip to San Antonio, I would wake up gaze at that deep blue sky in amazement. Now I really want to visit San ANtonio. I once did a painting that included the Alamo as one of its elements. Would love to see it , the River Walk, and those fairytale horse-and-carriages!
Oh Andrea, it would be worth the trip. The Alamo is stunning, the walls so textured and full of stories. And the carriages! I had no idea they existed until we wandered out our first night in town – took my breath away. Your artist heart would revel in the color and textures of the city, the architecture was awe inspiring. Who knows, maybe our first cup of coffee will be on a darling patio overlooking the River Walk as we soak in the beauty and share stories of our sons. Much love to you today!
