Where It All Began…

“How did you start, where did you begin?” A question that I have been asked recently about what was the prompt four years ago to start writing. Curious myself, I went back to the beginning and I am so glad that I did. I read with new eyes Justin’s letter to us, it was like hearing his voice again. On Thursdays, we will be visiting moments along the journey, I hope you enjoy the look back. I know for me it was incredibly revealing and thought provoking. Wishing you peace and if you are considering writing, just do it – just start, it will bear good fruit.  Click here or the link below to read Justin’s words and where it all began.

“I will miss you in South Dakota, but the times we can be together in the future will be made even more special by the times we are apart between them.”

Oh Terri – I have sat and read so many of your posts over the past year + – how did I miss this one? It is tender beyond words. I’ll risk sharing this: when Abel was 12 or 13 he read Moby Dick ( I know, it’s not quite George Macdonald!) and was captured by the first paragraph……though he was a voracious reader, that became his most treasured book. It traveled all over the world with him as a Navy Seal……and that very copy is now one of Jes’ most treasured possessions. 🙂 The first time he traveled without it (for any extended length of time) was two months before he died – when he left it with Jes. Oh, be still my heart. You minister so to us in our pain. 🙂

Jackie, thank you so much for reading and walking this journey with me. I am crying, I love Moby Dick, exceptional book. I am so glad Jes has that treasure, that he left it with her before he traveled. Thank you so much for sharing that story, what a gift. Honored and grateful to call you friend! Wishing you both peace.
